The City of Boise received a commitment of $50,000 from Together Treasure Valley to add public artwork in the medians along Vista Avenue, the corridor that welcomes visitors from the airport and interstate, as well as daily commuters. In their application, Boise said “Significant public art added at this location will provide an opportunity to truly set the stage for the Treasure Valley; recognizing the beauty of our state, and showcasing the vibrancy of our community.” Additional funding was provided by Boise. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
“Making the decision was difficult, but in the end I’m proud of our choices,” said Deanna Turner of Idaho Central Credit Union (and a Together Treasure Valley partner), when referring to this and one other public art project (Indian Creek Musical Art Park) selected in 2016 to receive funding from Together Treasure Valley . “It is very rewarding to be involved in selecting projects that will enhance our beautiful Treasure Valley with public art.”
